MasterSeal AWB 970 FIB description

MasterSeal AWB 970 FIB is a patented, 30-mil thick, self-adhering, self-sealing, composite membrane of polyester fabric and rubberized asphalt. MasterSeal AWB 970 FIB is supplied in rolls, on release paper, for easy application. MasterSeal AWB 950 P is a single component, water-based primer specially formulated for use with MasterSeal AWB 970 FIB.

Recommended uses:

Used as an air barrier accessory to connect different air barrier materials or assemblies together to make the air barrier continuous.

• Flashing at sills, approved sheathing joints, rough openings, and terminations
• As an expansion joint seal
• To create a seamless transition from MasterSeal AWB 660, MasterSeal AWB 665, or MasterSeal AWB 660 I onto MasterSeal AWB 970 FIB Flashing Membrane

MasterSeal AWB 950 P is to be used under MasterSeal AWB 970 FIB on these acceptable substrates and other surfaces:

• Wood framing (Note: Verify adhesion before applying to wood that has been treated in any way.)
• ASTM C1177 sheathings, e.g. eXP^TM, GlasRoc®, Securock^TM and DensGlass^TM
• Water-resistant core gypsum sheathing (ASTM C79/ASTM C1396)
• Cement-board (ASTM C1325 Type A Exterior)
• Masonry
• Exposure 1 or exterior plywood sheathing
• Exposure 1 OSB
• Steel framing
• TF Membrane (itself)
• MasterSeal AWB 660
• MasterSeal AWB 665
• MasterSeal AWB 660 I

Note: All places where MasterSeal AWB 970 FIB laps onto itself must be treated with MasterSeal AWB 950 P or 3M Super 77 spray adhesive
